My Trip

Welcome to the blog! I set this up so I could post stories and photos from my upcoming trip to share with those who are interested. I hope to post updates each night before I pass out in some cheap motel room from the sheer exhaustion of driving.

For those of you who don't know, I'm going to attempt a cross-country drive starting from Southern Indiana on Saturday March 8th (after my best friend's wedding!), drive all the way to San Diego through the southern states, then back through Nevada, Utah, and the Plains states. I hope to accomplish all of this in 10 days, arriving back in Indy in time for class at 5:30 on Monday March 17 - we'll see if that is possible! Just me and the dog...

Here is a link to the Google Map of my route (you may have to zoom out or re-position it):

This looks like a cool trip. Take plenty of tunes. Hope Rudy can hold it for a while. I assume iPhone will be blocking Ali's calls.

Have a good trip-and don't lose all your money in vegas...hopefully you meet some normal people, i.e. those that don't say things like "tunes"

Erica - Talk to strangers, and they will no longer be strangers. Remember the journey, not the destination

E,
M's on the phone with you now. Guess you made it safe and sound. Be careful and aware of your surroundings. And you can have some fun too! Talk to you soon. Almost no snow here. D-

Erica,
Glad you took that stinkin' dog away. Now I can relax for a few days. Although I only get to sit on the counter when Rudy is here - so maybe he's not so bad. Gotta go - Dizzy needs to be chased, I'm I'm about ready for a nap on Mom's lap and my paws are tired from typing. Typing caps is really a pain! Next time take me! Love, -Griffin

Hey E, Guess you're in the middle of the desert by now. Hope you're having fun. A Horse with No Name by America just played on TV during a commercial. I can remember driving towards Yuma, Arizona for a detachment from Lemoore, Calif. while in the Navy in a red two door 1967 Chevelle listening to that song. Windows down on the highway, warm desert wind blowing and new scenery every mile. You'll have to download that song and play it on your Ipod tomorrow. It occurred to me that I was probably about in the same place you are now. A road trip is always exciting and new and somehow liberating. Enjoy and take it all in. Miss you and Love you.... D

E,
Once again. Happy Birthday. Hope you had a good day. Take care. Love you, D
PS, That trip to Yuma was probably about Summer of 1972. Just checked. It came out in the Spring of 72'.
